deprecation of optical-only classification
From the present date, optical examination alone shall not be sufficient to advance a specimen beyond the UNVERIFIED tier. At minimum a pass-B Raman spectrum is required.
Records currently held under optical-only classification will remain in their existing tier; no retroactive demotion is foreseen. Resubmission for spectroscopic confirmation is welcome.
