Submission accompanied by no provenance information. Macroscopic appearance and Raman response are consistent with pyrite but with an additional unaccounted band at 612 cm⁻¹. Repeat measurement after 14 months shows the feature persisting at the same wavenumber and the same relative intensity (±3%). Specimen has been thermally cycled to 77 K and back without loss of feature. The persistence is not predicted by any published model for the stated composition.
